When I was younger I absolutely loved reading and I was always itching to read new books where I could delve into different worlds, faraway lands and meet new characters. My favourite childhood author was Jacqueline Wilson and I was even lucky enough to meet her! I loved reading all her books because even though they were all so different it was a joy to read about the characters, their lives, adventures and challenges as well as the happy endings. My all-time favourite Jaqueline Wilson book and my recommended read is ‘Best Friends.’ This book is all about two girls, Gemma and Alice, that are best friends, even though they have different personalities and interests. However, their friendship is put to the test when Alice has to move away to another part of the country…. What will happen to the best friends? You will have to read the book to find out!
I also enjoyed reading books written by J.K Rowling, Michael Morpurgo and Roald Dahl such as Harry Potter, Butterfly Lion, Kensuke’s Kingdom, The Twits and Matilda!
Even today I still enjoy reading especially if it is a book written by my favourite author Sophie Kinsella! So, take a visit to your local library to borrow books from any of these authors for free or have a look in the classroom to see if you can find it in our Reading Garden!
