On Thursday 4th July, we all came to school dressed in Ancient Greek clothing ready for our Greek day! We had a fantastic guest speaker who talked to us about the origins of Ancient Greece and we completed a quiz that we had to search different information boards for the answers- it was lots of fun! After break time we got to play 2 different Ancient Greek games and then tasted some Greek food such as olives, feta cheese, pitta bread and dips and then Greek yoghurt, figs, dates and grapes for pudding- Yum Yum! After dinner we went back in the hall and learnt about Hoplite soldiers, we even saw fulll hoplite clothing! We discussed the Democracy and then we voted which side we would like to vote for: Athens or Sparta? - Sparta won! We finished off our day with a mini Olympic Games between the 2 classes. We had such a fantastic time and didn't want it to end!
Take a look at all our photographs about the brilliant day that we had!
