Year 6 got to experience a fabulous Architecture Workshop as part of our topic: North America. Our first activity involved sticks and a lot of elastic bands. By the end of it, we learnt that a tripod was not as strong as a tetrapod (a four legged structure!) After some investigating on creating taller, more structurally secure shapes we were then onto the final activity. Each group were given the challenge of building a skyscraper that would remain standing after being shaken slightly, mimicking an earthquake. If it was able to meet the criteria they would be the winners! Have a look at our photos, we were seriously pleased with our handiwork!
