Ducklings visit Sledmere.
During our topic on farms and growing Mrs Naylor brought her ducklings into school for us to see and touch. We found out that they have webbed feet, that they make a different sound when they are young and that they will turn from their yellow colour to white with their adult feathers. They had a heat plate with them to keep them warm as their mum was not with them.

Celebrating the 90th birthday of our Queen

All of the school have enjoyed dressing up in red, white and blue. We have made a card for her birthday, completed a picture patchwork, written about the Queen and learned the National Anthem to sing in assembly.

We enjoyed decorating biscuits to look like polar bears which we then sold to the rest of the school. Thank you to everyone who bought some, we were able to adopt three polar animals, one for each class.

Easter comes to Sledmere.

We have enjoyed a variety of activities including cooking, printing, parading in our Easter bonnets, singing in rounds to the school and collage.

4 steps to a smile charity

As part of our Easter celebrations we have thought about children who are not as lucky as we are. We have collected 384 Easter eggs which will be given to some of these children in our local area.

A big thank you to Cadbury who donated 240 eggs and have pledged to support this charity each year.

Thank you to everyone who has donated this year.
