Sledmere's Diamond Jubilee

We had a fabulous day on Friday 20th June. In the morning, all the children attended a special assembly where we found out a little more about the kind of school Sledmere was when it first opened!

Next we were treated to some wonderful singing and dancing performances from our very own Glee club!

The weather was really kind to us, so while the children enjoyed a picnic outside at lunchtime, the staff held a special buffet and entertained past members of staff. It was so lovely to see them all!

After lunch we had a whole school photograph taken and finally we released our balloons. Each one had a label with a child's name and we are waiting to hear whose balloon travels the greatest distance. Many parents turned up to watch us and they were invited to stay for refreshments as well as have a chance to look at some of the hundreds of photographs spanning many years.

Lots of people worked very hard to make the day such a great success and hopefully the children will remember it for many years to come!
