When I was younger, I used to always have a book in my hand! I enjoyed reading about far off lands, mystery, comedies, romance and thrillers! As a child, my favourite authors were: Jaqueline Wilson, Roald Dahl and Michael Morpurgo.
My favourite book, still to this day, is 'War Horse' by Michael Morpurgo. The story is about World War One but with a twist! The main character is a strong and noble war horse and the book is written through the eyes of this heroic horse. This brave horse sees the best and the worst of the world, the power of war and the beauty of peace. It is so memorising, you just won't be able to put it down!
Another Michael Morpurgo book you just won't be able to put down is 'Butterfly Lion'. I remember having this as my share-a-set at school and I just fell in love with it! It is about a young boy who lives in Africa and is longing for a friend. When, suddenly, one day he finds a small, white lion cub hiding a bush. The pair soon become very close and inseparable but the young boy is sent away to boarding school in England and his parents are unable to look after the cub. So, sadly, the lion is sent away to the circus.
Will the pair ever meet again?
You'll have to pick up the book to find out!
