It is important that every child comes to school on time every day, as we know that good attendance leads to good progress.

We believe high levels of attendance and a punctual start to the school day are vital to all children. Our aim is to ensure that every pupil has access to the full-time education to which they are entitled to, and as a result succeed and thrive. We endeavour for children to take responsibility for their own attendance, recognising the link between attendance and good learning.

School attendance is not merely a requirement but a fundamental pillar of education. It plays a pivotal role in shaping academic success, personal growth, and prospects, making it an indispensable aspect of any educational system. School attendance is critical for: academic achievement, social development and friendships and building routine.

How to report an absence:

Absences must be reported on each day. To report your child’s absence, contact school on 01384476150 and choose option 1. You can also talk to the School Office, if you require further assistance.

You can also contact our Attendance team via Arbor. Our in-app messaging feature is monitored daily and any messages received will be actioned accordingly.

The School Day:

Gates are open for students from 8:30am. Doors close at 8:40am for the register to be taken. All students arriving after 8:40am must enter via the Front Office and be deemed as ‘late’. If your child arrives after 9:20am, they will be recorded as a U ‘Late (after register closed)’. This is then an ‘unauthorised absence for the morning session.

Monday to Thursday children are dismissed at 3:25pm. On Friday’s children are dismissed at 1:20pm; we also have ‘Afternoon Provision’ on a Friday until 3:25pm for families that may need to access this. For more information, please contact school.

Across the week, children from Reception to Year 6 are accessing 32.5 hours of learning.

Nursery timings are 8:30am – 11:30am
