Sledmere Primary School Curriculum Intent
At Sledmere, we strive for our children to be pioneers for their own future. Our knowledge rich curriculum enables them to develop a curious and comprehensive understanding of the diverse world around them. Our curriculum offer builds on existing knowledge by carefully sequencing new information and ensuring learning is progressive. Children are actively encouraged to be independent learners, make links and connections between their learning drawing upon their reading, writing and communication skills. Our curriculum equips our children with the tools they need to help them stay safe both in the online and real world. At the heart of Sledmere, our core values teach children to respect themselves, others and the world around them. We endeavour to create a learning experience that inspires them to lead happy, healthy and safe futures.
We follow the Read Write Inc. approach to phonics teaching.
